Event description:

The editors of the Politic, Yale Globalist, Yale Herald, Yale Scientific, New Journal, and Yale Daily News Magazine, in collaboration with Fred Strebeigh and with Ilena Silverman, invite everyone interested in nonfiction writing at Yale to attend a special dinner event, 6 pm to 7:30 pm, 11/2/2017, in the Branford College Common Room (located below the Branford Dining Hall), during which Ilena Silverman will discuss one recent article from each publication.

Ilena Silverman plans to address this question: “What would these articles need to do to rise to true national quality?” This event is designed to give campus writers a chance to hear a major national editor offer challenges intended to lift the quality of writing of all Yale students who wish to write for publication.

Full dinner information as it develops, including a list of articles, will be posted at:

Before this 6 pm event in the Branford Common Room, Ilena Silverman will have been leading a discussion at a tea in the Branford College House, 80 High Street, from 4-5:30 pm, titled “Editing the New York Times Magazine,” sponsored by Branford College and the Poynter Fellowship
