Erika Lin is an Associate Professor of English at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She specializes in early modern English drama, with an eye to the material: the embodied nature of performance, affect, and audience. Her work draws from many fields outside English, such as anthropology, social history, and the history of science. Her interests include medieval theatre, gender and sexuality, the history of dance, folklore and popular culture, and Asian American studies. Her first book, Shakespeare and the Materiality of Performance, won the 2013 David Bevington Award for Best New Book in Early Drama Studies. She is currently co-editing a volume of essays on Games and Theatre in Early Modern England. Her second book is tentatively titled Seasonal Festivity and Commercial Performance in Early Modern England.
