Center for Story & Witness invites applications to their award-winning testimonial writing workshop for survivors of gender-based violence, October 11-12, 2025, to be hosted by the Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University. Led by creative writing faculty member R. Clifton Spargo and Anne K. Ream, the co-founders of Center for Story & Witness, the workshop was developed to help those who have lived through or witnessed violence use their voices, faces, and stories to call the public to greater compassion and social action.
During the two-day Center for Story & Witness writing workshop, a cohort of writers, activists, and survivors come together to read and discuss culture-changing literature from across various social justice movements … take part in a series of innovative, real-time writing exercises … and share creative work in moderated, trauma-informed workshopping sessions.
