Ardis Butterfield has been appointed International Consultant at the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. This arose from her visit last December 2025 to give a guest and workshop paper there, the latter published in Chinese translation in their journal Medieval and Renaissance Studies. The international workshop on “Book History and Literature East and West” was organized by the Director of CMRS, Professor Hao Tianhu, Qiushi Distinguished Professor, PhD Columbia with colleagues from Harvard, UPenn, Georgia State and UT Austin, as well as Chinese scholars. The CMRS was founded in 2016.
She also gave a guest lecture at the Yale Centre, Beijing. She would like to acknowledge the extraordinary hospitality she received throughout the trip.
