I am a medievalist and early modernist with interests in ecopoetics, drama, book history, the digital humanities, and the environmental humanities. My dissertation, “Rough Beginnings: Imagining the Origins of Agriculture in Late Medieval and Early Modern Britain,” argues that stories about the invention of agriculture helped early modern readers and writers make sense of their responsibilities to the earth and other people and imagine possible ecological futures. I am also interested in virtual reality as a pedagogical tool and as a platform for performance.
