I am a nineteenth-century Americanist with a special interest in African American authors, book history, print culture, and revision. My dissertation “Re (-) Markable Texts: Revision in Nineteenth-Century African American Literature” adapts theories and methods from textual scholarship, genetic criticism, and editorial theory in order to reconstruct the material and authorial processes that constitute black revisionary labor. I am a 2021-2023 Junior Fellow in the Andrew W. Mellon Society of Fellows in Critical Bibliography.
