Event description:

In this talk Professor Hungerford will outline the problems, sources, and questions entailed in her new project on the formations of American solitude. The project is at a speculative stage, and the research Professor Hungerford presents will invite collaborative thinking about the project in its broadest sense—from contemporary American literature and culture to 19th century sources and the older Christian and Buddhist traditions that feed into contemporary thinking.
