Derek Green writes fiction, screenplays, feature journalism, and more. His first book, NEW WORLD ORDER, is a collection of stories linked by a Haliburtonesque company and set in various locations around the world. In writing it, he drew on experiences traveling across six continents in twenty-two countries. After the book appeared, he co-wrote the adaptation of a literary novel for Warner Bros. Studios and several television pilots. He recently completed a novel about the rise of an armed Midwestern militia and a second collection of short stories.
Green’s teaching background includes lecturing on writing and literature at many institutions, including The University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Aspen Institute. He received an MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of Michigan, and is a member of the PEN American Center and the Writer’s Guild of America East.
