Department Lecture Series: Michelle Wright “Diaspora in Spacetime: Blackness as Epiphenomenal Epistemology”

In this talk Wright explores how the invention of Blackness during the Enlightenment and its subsequent counter-discourses throughout the diaspora requires more than one epistemological formation. Looking at time, history and physics, Wright offers an “Epiphenomenal” approach towards representing the diversity of Blackness more accurately and inclusively.
