Matthew Bevis: A Supposed Person

Matthew Bevis teaches at the English Faculty in Oxford. His books include Comedy: A Very Short Introduction, Wordsworth’s Fun, and Edward Lear, Moment to Moment. His essays have appeared in Harper’s, The New York Review of Books, Poetry, Raritan, and The London Review of Books. He has just finished a book entitled Then Again: Some Notes on Lyric.
