All students are invited to a Zoom information session on Monday, August 12, 1:30-2:30 PM, where course directors will join the DUS and Associate DUS to answer questions about all English introductory courses.
Preference Selection for New Students: ENGL 114 and ENGL 115
*Please note that English courses will have new 4-digit numbers effective Spring 2025. ENGL 114 will become ENGL 1014, and ENGL 115 will become ENGL 1015.
New students who wish to take ENGL 114 Writing Seminars or ENGL 115 Literature Seminars are encouraged to participate in preference selection during the online preference selection period, Tuesday, August 6 at 8:00 AM through Monday, August 12 at 5:00 PM.
Continuing students who are interested in ENGL 114 or ENGL 115 should not participate in preference selection but may enroll during Add/Drop period, August 26 at 8:00 AM through September 10 at 5:00 PM.
New students may LOG IN HERE to access Preference Selection for ENGL 114 and ENGL 115 during preference selection period, August 6-12.
When preference selection closes, places will be assigned on the basis of a computerized lottery designed to maximize student preferences. The results will be pushed to student schedules by 5:00 PM on Friday, August 16. If you decide not to take the course to which you are assigned, please remove it from your schedule right away to open the space for your fellow students.
If you miss preference selection or are not admitted to a section you selected, you may register for open seats via YCS during new student registration period, August 21, 1:00 PM— 3:00 PM, or during Add/Drop period, August 26 at 8:00 AM through September 10 at 5:00 PM.
