Please join the English Department Renaissance Colloquium in a conversation with David Marno on aesthetic education from the times of George Herbert to now.
David Marno is associate professor in the English Department at the University of California, Berkeley, where he teaches early modern literature, culture, and religion. His first book Death Be Not Proud: The Art of Holy Attention (Chicago, 2016) offers a phenomenology of prayer by reading John Donne’s devotional poems in the context of Christian ascetic exercises. He is currently working on the idea of aesthetic education.
