Please join the English Department and Renaissance Colloquium in welcoming Russ Leo and his talk “Varieties of Autodidactism: Milton, Spinoza, and the Quakers”.

Russ Leo is an Associate Professor in the English Department at Princeton University. His first book, Tragedy as Philosophy in the Reformation World (2019), traces philosophical ideas of tragedy in the seventeenth- century. He is currently at work on a study of ideas of friendship, pedagogy, and the critique of institutions shared among Spinoza, Milton, and their interlocutors.
