Congratulations to Alastair Minnis, Douglas Tracy Smith Professor of English, who has recently been awarded a Bogliasco Fellowship at the Liguria Study Center, located on the Italian Riviera in the village of Bogliasco, near Genoa, which he will take up in the Fall semester. “One of the few residential institutions in the world dedicated exclusively to the humanistic disciplines”, the foundation - created in 1991 by a group of artists and scholars from Italy, Switzerland, and the United States - awards fellowships to applicants who have “demonstrated significant achievement in their disciplines” and will thrive in “an intimate, international, multi-lingual community.” There he plans to finish his book-in-progress, From Eden to Eternity: Creations of Paradise in Late-Medieval Culture.
