Wednesday, February 1 at 5:00, LC 317. The English Department Late-Medieval English Literature Series presents: Anthony Bale is Reader in Medieval Studies at Birkbeck College, London. He is the author of The Jew in the Medieval Book: English Antisemitisms 1350-1500 (2006) and Feeling Persecuted: Christians, Jews and Images of Violence in the Middle Ages (2010). He has written numerous articles on medieval literature, culture and religion, and recently completed a new edition and translation of Sir John Mandeville’s Book of Marvels and Travels (forthcoming in 2012).
