Anthony Reed: “Phonographic Poetry: Race, Records, and the Archive”

On Wednesday, September 26 at 4:15, Steinbach, 52 Hillhouse the Yale School of Management’s first Convening Yale program of the academic year is pleased to present Professor Anthony Reed, Department of English & African American Studies, “Phonographic Poetry:  Race, Records and the Archive.”  Professor Reed’s research and teaching focus on poetics and 20th/21st century global black writing, investigating the intersections of aesthetics and politics in literature, film, and other media. This talk will consider a variety of consequences phonographic technology has had on African American poetry since the 1960s.
