David Bromwich: “Shakespeare, Lincoln, and Ambition”

Thursday, April 19 at 4:00, LC 102.  The English Department and Shakespeare at Yale present: David Bromwich is Sterling Professor of English at Yale and a scholar of Romanticism and modern poetry. His books include Hazlitt: the Mind of a Critic; a selection of Edmund Burke’s speeches and letters, On Empire, Liberty, and Reform; and an edition of Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw. Among the courses he has taught regularly at Yale are “Lincoln in Thought and Action” and “Shakespeare’s Political Plays.”

This event is part of Shakespeare at Yale, a semester of special events celebrating the Bard.
