Gene Jarrett:”Literary Agency and its Discontents: Rethinking Historiographies of Slavery and Freedom”

Thursday, October 27 at 4:00, 81 Wall St. The Americanist Colloquium presents: Gene Jarrett is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of English at Boston University.  He is the author of Representing the Race: A New Political History of African American Literature (NYU, 2011) and Deans and Truants: Race and Realism in African American Literature (U Penn, 2006).  He is also the editor of several scholarly books on African American literature, culture, and history.
