Victor Zapana: A reading from his work

Thursday, February 21 at 8:30, Branford Common Room. Branford College and Francis Conversations with Writers and Editors Series present: Victor Zapana. During Victor Zapana’s years as a Yale English major, his mother was serving a prison term for having injured a baby in her care (a crime she may or may not have committed). Zapana will read from and answer questions about “Shaken,” a memorable New Yorker piece about his mother’s trial, her incarceration, and his painful attempt to unravel the truth. “Shaken” is an adaptation of his Writing Concentration project in nonfiction.

Victor Zapana is the former City Editor of the Yale Daily News as well as a former reporter for the Washington Post. He is currently a freelance writer living in New York City. His visit to Yale is the Spring 2013 event in the Francis Conversations with Writers and Editors series.
