Phill M. Campbell is a PhD student in the departments of Black Studies and English Language and Literature. His research focuses on the Blues Epistemology, critical pedagogy, the Black Belt thesis, and scientific socialism. Specifically, it centers the way 20th century Black radicals learned from the masses to raise revolutionary consciousness in the United States. At Yale he seeks to comprehend how the lessons of organizers in the 1930s forecasted the pedagogy of those in the 1960s and 1970s.
