Information for Prospective Graduate Students

March 19, 2012

Congratulations on your acceptance! As the Admissions Liaisons for your class, we join Professor Brantley and the entire English department in welcoming you to Yale. We write to invite you to visit Yale and New Haven, and we look forward meeting you. This section of the English Department website is designed to provide you with comprehensive information about your upcoming visit or, if you are unable to come see us in person, a wealth of information designed for the prospective student. Please use the links below to navigate this information. And do feel free to contact us at any point with questions, suggestions, or comments!

We hope that you will join us for a campus visit in late March. We have two options planned: March 27th-28thor March 28th-29th. During this visit you will get a glimpse into the life of a graduate student at Yale. You will visit classes, meet with professors in your fields of interests, and attend departmental events and lectures. You will also share meals, coffee, and downtime with current students. Visiting students typically stay with students in the department and we will attempt to match you with hosts who share your interests.

We hope that the information contained on this website will be useful as you think and plan over the next few weeks. Please call or email us with any questions you may have; we are available to assist you in any way that we can and we’re looking forward to working with you to plan your visit to Yale. We hope to see you soon!
