Jennifer Stock

Jennifer Stock is an essayist whose work has appeared in the Iowa Review, the Yale Review, the New England Review, the Georgia Review, Salmagundi, Hotel Amerika, and the Normal School. Her essays “Parrot on a Stone Plinth” and “Lighter than Air” were awarded notable distinction in the Best American Essays of 2019 and 2021, respectively. She’s the recipient of the 2019 New England Review Award for Emerging Writers. She is currently at work on a cultural history of self-love. She holds a B.A. in Music and English from Yale, and a Ph.D in Music Composition from the City University of New York.
